Green Design
During the day-to-day processes of making a living it is sometimes easy to under estimate the impact our business practices have on the environment. Multiply this blind-spot by thousands of others like ourselves, and the amount of unused potential becomes significant.
For example, one of the most effective methods for reducing our negative environmental impact is to emphasize online marketing over traditional advertising. Yet, even after implementing green initiatives such as:
• Buying carbon credits to offset impact
• Electronic billing, invoicing and accounting
• Participating in “reduce-reuse-recycle” programs
• Web based communications
• Remote Workforce
• “Buying Local” campaigns,
there still may be a feeling of not doing enough. This is partially due to having limited sustainable opportunities within our personal and business life. However, as the sustainable minded community continues to grow and develop, choices will improve.
Zellous.org understands this question of “enoughness” and affirms that it can be remediated by focusing more resources on the connectivity between people and their local resources within community. By strengthening our affiliations, networks and partnerships our community will thrive.
Within this broad purpose of sustainability, Zellous.org’s mission is to create true value in a website that extends beyond traditional business practices. The chart above illustrates six points to ponder in order to make it truly valuable to the client and others.
XHTML and CSS
Note: Zellous.org is presently designing a few sites in XHTML and CSS . The exclusive use of XHTML mark-up language and CSS document presentation will result in a truly “Sustainable” web site technically. As we are able to find the right balance between efficient code and universal aesthetics we will pass on the results and offerings through this site. Stay tuned.
